    Blitz Updates

We have a lot to talk about as this is the biggest Blitz update yet. First, many Amiko have received changes to their Movesets and/or balance adjustments to specific Abilities. You may also notice that Ability descriptions have been streamlined and made more concise to hopefully help with clarity and quick decision making. We’ve also updated our pipeline so that most balance changes no longer necessitate a new build which should allow us to make much more frequent balance updates in the future. Since the scale of this update is extremely large, we expect some balance outliers to slip through and we’ll try to hammer them out as fast as possible.

    New Stats

We’ve added Ether Attack & Ether Defense as new Stats which means damaging Abilities now deal either Physical or Ether damage. This also means we’ve updated the Base Stat spreads for every single Amiko, which you can find below. Most Melee abilities deal Physical damage while most Ranged abilities deal Ether damage but there are exceptions which creates new dynamics with certain Status Effects and archetypes. This is a massive change and we have internally tested every single Amiko to get the balance as tight as we could.

    Passives

All Amiko have received a brand new Passive to further their unique identity, keep scrolling to find those as well.

    Elemental Interactions

We’ve expanded how the two triangles interact, adding new cross-triangle relationships with lighter impact than the core ones.

Major interactions have been rebalanced: instead of the old -33% and +50% damage, they are now -20%, and +40% damage bonus. Minor interactions follow the same pattern with -10% and +20%.

    Fire -> Wind -> Plant -> Lightning -> Water -> Earth -> Fire

    New Mechanics
    • Critical Hits & Fails have been renamed to Lucky & Unlucky Hits and reworked: Combined with “normal” hits, each have a 1/3 chance to happen and increase or decrease the damage of an Ability by 5%, respectively. They also interact with some other mechanics, notably certain Passives. These changes were made to reduce frustrating high variance while keeping the mechanic available for synergy and preventing a mathematically flat feeling.

    • Shackled (Status Effect): This Status prevents the use of Melee Abilities and guarantees the target will only receive Lucky Hits.

    • Clouded (Status Effect): This Status prevents the use of Ranged Abilities and guarantees the target will only deal Unlucky Hits.

    • Undying (Status Effect): This Status will leave the Amiko at 1 HP and remove itself when their HP should have reached 0.

    • Ailment Shift: This effect that you can notably find on a brand new Amiko exchanges the Status Effects between both active Amiko.

    • Element Absorb (e.g. Wind Absorb etc.): This Status will cause damage of that Element to heal the receiver instead.

    • Element Vulnerability / Element Resistance: This Status increases or decreases damage taken from a specific Element based on its Stage, similar to how Stat Boosts affect Stats.

    • Ward: Protect has been renamed to Ward.

    • Mana: Hype has been renamed to Mana.

    • Matching Type Boost: Has been increased from 10% to 20% bonus damage.

    Amiko Adjustments

    New Amiko:
    • Helios

      Passive:

Adventurous: After each turn, generate Mana based on current HP, +2 at 100% HP, +0 at 1% HP

Helios is the roster’s only Normal Type and a versatile all-rounder. Not an Amiko, but always ready to assist Seekers.

    • Lucky

    Passive:

Emergence: After landing an attack, +1 Mana

Lucky is an Ether Bruiser who thrives in relentless offense, generating high amounts of Mana. What it lacks in offensive coverage it makes up for in its ability to be made to Absorb both Water and Lightning, as well as a Dodge and Self-Cleanse. Use Lucky to duel other Ether Attackers or use its unique Absorbs to force your opponents into uncomfortable situations.

    • Pandata

    Passive:

Maintenance: After each turn, Heal 5% Max HP

Pandata is a unique Defensive Support Amiko. Its Data Transfer Ability, which uses the new Ailment Shift mechanic, can be used to pass self-inflicted Debuffs to the opponent, as well as return unwanted Status Effects such as Poisons or Curses. It also has the capacity to Shackle. Use Pandata to debilitate your opponents then outlast them through attrition, or Swap to your favorite Amiko to clean them up.

    • Znix

    Passive:

Rising from Ashes: Start battle with Uncleansable Undying, Heal 20% Max HP after triggering

Znix is a Fast Physical Attacker with extreme power in the form of Priority and, particularly, Twice Burned, which punishes Dodges with an even more powerful Chain Hit. It thrives in risky situations thanks to its Passive and a high-risk, high-reward Dodge that heals it if it’s below 15% HP. Use Znix against evasive and speedy Opponents, or simply go down in a blaze of glory with Solar Flare.

    • Bubble Popper

    Passive:

Crabby: When hit, Physical Attack +1 on Self (2 turns)

Bubble Popper is a Physical Bruiser with the capacity to apply Water Weakness to either empower itself or a fellow Amiko. It also has a Deflect Ability that features a Water Counter-Attack and gets progressively stronger when hit. Opponents trying to avoid triggering its Passive will find its Sharp Claw packs a massive punch while its HP is high. Use Bubble Popper against many low-damage hits or to setup immense burst.

    • Logator

    Passive:

Spiky: Reflect 10% of Melee Damage

Logator is a Physical Tank that can trap Opponents with Shadowbind using Dragged Under. It’s an adaptable Amiko featuring coverage, Poison and a Heal. Its Passive allows it to deal damage even while using Defensive Abilities. Use Logator to lock weak prey into a dangerous duel of attrition or for its sheer versatility.

    • Clicktin

    Passive:

Power Surge: When hit by Lightning, Ether Attack +2 & Ether Defense +2 on Self (3 turns)

Clicktin is a Bulky Ether Attacker featuring two main modes of play. By using Heat Up, it grows more powerful at the cost of tankiness and causes its Static Malfunction to Cloud the Opponent. Alternatively, it can use Cool Down for the opposite effect, and cause its Subcooling to grant Regeneration on top of its base Shield. Triggering its Passive with a well-timed Swap can even allow it to have all these bonuses available at once. Use Clicktin if you like outplay potential, and adaptable Amiko that are hard to pilot.

    Existing Amiko:
    • Bitebit

    Passive:

Swiftness: Each time this Amiko successfully Dodges, Attack +1 (3 turns)

Swiftness rewards good defensive play, allowing Bitebit to ramp its Attack in a new way beyond its existing Storm Surge Ability.

    • Dipking

    Passive:

Slippery: Always Deflect 20% of Melee Damage

Slippery makes Dipking deceivingly durable against Melee attacks.

    • Shiba Ignite
    • Passive:

Short Fuse: Each time this Amiko takes a Lucky Hit, Attack +1 (Infinite duration)

Short Fuse reinforces Shiba Ignite’s low HP = more power theme that Burning Bright established.

    • Dinobit

    Passive:

Adaptive Carapace: Each time the Opponent gains a Shield, Exchange status effects with Opponent

Adaptive Carapace will make Dinobit’s Opponent think twice about using Shields, improving its dueling potential while keeping its kit simple and effective. It also allows players to Swap it in at just the right time to steal a Shield.

    • Zzoo

    Passive:

Acrobat: Each time this Amiko successfully uses a Defensive Ability, +2 Mana

Acrobat allows Zzoo enjoyers to aggressively use Defensive Abilities at a high discount, so long as those Abilities are well timed. Zzoo is also one of the few Amiko with respectable Physical and Ether damage output, as its main Physical damage dealing Ability uses its Speed for calculations. The tradeoff being its extremely lackluster Defensive stats.

    • Block Choy
    • Passive:

Wash It Down: Each time this Amiko’s Shield is hit, Cleanse the Opponent’s Shield

Wash It Down carves a niche for Block Choy, similar to Dinobit’s, albeit with a unique attrition flavor. This Passive should also help with tedious mirror match-ups (in both cases).

    • Unika

    Passive:

Horsepower: Each time this Amiko lands an attack, Speed +1 (3 turns)

Unika starts battle as a reasonably Fast Physical Bruiser but quickly becomes able to outspeed some of the fastest Amiko thanks to Horsepower. Its Knockdown has also been replaced with Flint Snap, which scales with its Speed, turning it into a ramping monster.

    • Axobubble

    Passive:

Tissue Regeneration: The first time this Amiko’s HP falls to 50% or lower, Heal 999 HP

Tissue Regeneration is one of the most powerful Passives we’ve added (and we're keeping an eye on it), essentially granting Axobubble a lot more Max HP. Opponents unable to deal 50+% of its HP in a single blow will want to get it to just 50% HP to trigger this effect at minimal value.

  1. Number 9
  2. Passive:

Hexdrinker: After each turn, if the Opponent is Cursed, +3 Mana

Hexdrinker turns Number 9 into a Mana battery and it can pair up very well with other Curse appliers. Although it has lost the Fire element on its Dodge-Counter Ability, it has traded Scorching Bite for Chilling Flame, which shares the bonus Mana condition of Catch Up Punch, meaning it likes to dump its Mana as quickly as possible.

    • Chocomint

    Passive:

Soft Serve: When hit by Fire, Speed +5 (Infinite duration)

Soft Serve protects Chocomint from its biggest weakness, as Opponent’s hitting it with Fire will have to deal with its Water element Speed-scaling Ability. Still, Chocomint players will need to maneuver carefully as this Amiko is a full on glass cannon.

    • Cybertooth

    Passive:

Flash Freeze: Before using a Defensive Ability, Defense +2

Cybertooth now becomes even bulkier when using its Shield thanks to Flash Freeze, and the Ward from it protects the Defense buff as well.

    • Wassie

    Passive:

Insulated: Starts battle with +5 Lightning Resistance (Infinite duration) & Uncleansable

Wassie is very vulnerable to Physical damage, though Insulated means players can potentially Swap it in safely and makes it great at dueling fellow Lightning Amiko that may lack the necessary coverage to fight back.

    • Shibark

    Passive:

Do or Die: The first time this Amiko’s HP falls to 25% or lower, Ether Attack +3 (Infinite duration) & Uncleansable

Following in its fellow canine’s paw prints, Shibark becomes an absolute menace at low HP. Do or Die also means that any buffs gained from Frenzied Howl or Flame Spark become Infinite and Uncleansable when it triggers.

  3. Raccoin
  4. Passive:

Power Nap: Heal 10% Max HP every action while Shackled or when Opponent Swaps or Passes

Raccoin received a damage buff to its Fired Up Ability’s second hit and Power Nap gives it new flavorful staying power on top of Slack Off.

  5. Unikirin
  6. Passive:

High Voltage: Every time this Amiko Swaps in while the Opponent’s Mana is above 12, Ether Attack +5 (Infinite Duration) & Uncleansable

High Voltage makes Unikirin into a terrifying ace to keep up one’s sleeve, allowing players to punish Mana stacking Opponents with immense power.

    • Keybab

    Passive:

Haute Cuisine: When hit by Plant, Attack +1 & Ether Attack +1 (3 turns)

Keybab’s main attacking abilities, Fiery Rampage and Burning Confidence now deal different damage types (Physical and Ether, respectively) giving it diverse and potent offense. Haute Cuisine emboldens this versatility, so long as players successfully manage its HP.

    • Chocorex

    Passive:

Showdown: When this Amiko becomes Cursed, Shadowbind the Opponent (3 turns) & Uncleansable

Chocorex is also one of the few Hybrid attackers. It can now use those Hybrid options with a Certain Doom that buffs both Offensive stats to trap the Opponent into a scary duel, thanks to Showdown.

    • Beeblock

    Passive:

Nasty Sting: Poisons on the Opponent applied by this Amiko have (Infinite duration) & Uncleansable

Nasty Sting means Beeblock can now permanently debilitate Opponents with Infinite and Uncleansable Poisons. Its new Reswarm ability (replacing Sylphor’s Purge) has the side-effect of applying Wind Weakness.

    • Bloomtail

    Passive:

Deadly Pollen: Poison Self & Opponent on Contact (5 turns)

Bloomtail’s Toxic Bouquet has essentially become its Passive and the ability has therefore been replaced with a new Generator that deals Double damage while the Opponent is Poisoned.

    • Walpuff

    Passive:

Happy Feet: Always Deflect 20% of Ranged Damage

Happy Feet helps round out Walpuff since its main weakness, Ether damage, usually comes from Ranged attacks.

    • Ghouliath

    Passive:

Necromancy: The first time this Amiko becomes Cursed, Gain Undying

Ghouliath has gained a niche as an anti-Curse Bruiser and has received nerfs to Soul Siphon’s healing (15% → 10%) and Blightquake’s Mana cost (4 → 5).

    • Dinotusk

    Passive:

Swan Song: After each action, if this Amiko is Cursed, +1 Mana

Swan Song turns Dinotusk into an extremely effective Mana battery for Amiko that enjoy high cost Spenders.

  7. Tokoma
  8. Passive:

Eye of the Storm: When hit by Lightning, Opponent Attack -2 & Ether Attack -2 (4 turns)

Lightning Strikes Twice now targets both Offensive stats instead of Attack and Speed and its Passive is essentially a free cast of that Ability. Tokoma is also a Hybrid Bruiser, as Sky’s Fury now deals Speed-scaling Ether damage while Earth’s Wrath deals Physical damage.

    • Oogrock

    Passive:

Chubby: Each time this Amiko successfully Reflects, Defense +1 (3 turns)

Oogrock’s new Passive turns its Low Blow into a positive feedback loop, as the Counter-Attack scales with Defense. Earthshaker has also been replaced with Standing Force which also uses Defense for its damage calculations.

    • Hollowoo

    Passive:

Scarecrow: Every time this Amiko Swaps in, Shadowbind Opponent (2 turns)

Hollowoo’s new Passive turns it into a Trapper for its Opponents.

    • Dracurve

    Passive:

Elemental Mastery: The first time this Amiko attacks with an element, Attack +2 (3 turns) & Uncleansable, once per element

Dracurve’s wide elemental coverage has been supplemented with a scaling Passive that can carry the end of turn effect of its Draonic Roar over to other turns. Additionally, Aerial Slash has been replaced with Clear Sky, a Wind element damaging ability that Cleanses both itself and its Opponent. Finally, the Shield from Crowned Vow has been made Uncleansable.

    • Dodorex

    Passive:

Second Wind: Every time this Amiko Unlucky Hits, Heal 7% Max HP

We’re giving Dodorex some love. First, Payback’s Curse has been replaced with a 2 turn Shadowbind, Peckish’s Regeneration has been buffed (5% → 15%) and Earthshaker’s damage has been increased (150-50 → 190-60) and now Clouds Dodorex for 2 turns if it hits. This means that after a successful Earthshaker, Dodorex is guaranteed to trigger its Passive whenever it attacks for 2 turns.
